It depends on what the build has to do, so we do not guess. The free code audit comes first, then you get one fixed price in writing. Smaller fixes can be billed hourly, from $70 an hour.
What counts as a complex build?
Anything past what themes and apps handle: custom Shopify apps, B2B and wholesale ordering, large migrations, variant systems past Shopify's limits, and stores other developers could not fix.
Can you build a custom Shopify app?
Yes. For 2fmm we built a custom app that puts 300k+ products in one bulk order table, with bulk search, variant selection, bulk add to cart and session persistence.
Can a Shopify product have more than three options?
Not natively. Shopify caps a product at three options. We build past it with metaobjects and metafields, as we did for Grill Scapes, which offers 16+ customizable options.
Can you migrate a large store without losing data?
Yes. Bolton Engineering's store-to-store migration covered 200,000 products, custom data and content, with zero metadata loss.
Can you take over a half-finished build?
Yes. We start with a free code audit, so you know what is there, what is broken and what it takes to finish before you commit to anything.
What if you misjudge the effort?
